DUAL-DSP PROCESSOR BOARD
('00)

An earlier version of a dual-DSP processor board was designed for a high-performance spectrum analyzer.  Control logic and state machines were realized by multiple high-density Altera EPLDs.  ADSP-21065 DSPs were used.  Other features included a master PCI interface using the PCI9080 and three-way local bus arbitration logic; various analog filters, amplifiers, and power circuits; high-speed analog-to-digital converters; flash, SDRAM and dual-port synchronous RAM; custom Quiet Bus; and complex clock circuitry.  The EPLD logic consisted of many state machines and control logic implemented in VHDL.  The board also included a Virtex XCV800 coded by a DSP filter specialist.  The Altera tools and Viewlogic schematic capture were used.
