FPGA-BASED MODULATION BOARD

An FPGA-based modulation board was designed for a microwave test instrument. Two DDS chips were also used. The features of the board included AM (Amplitude Modulation), FM (Frequency Modulation), and PM (Pulse Modulation) waveform synthesis. All of the control logic was implemented by a Xilinx 208-pin XCS30XL FPGA in VHDL. Tools used included FPGA Express, the Alliance toolset, Viewlogic simulation tools, and Viewlogic schematic capture.
